EXPERIENCE: Mr. Dobruskin is recognized as one of the leading IT consultants in the industry with a proven record for implementing mainframe technologies. He installed and tuned IBM MVS/XA, ESA, VM, and VSE operating systems which served as the foundation for high volume transaction-based business models. Several wall street brokerage houses bought into his consultancy and tailoring of third party software technology into their evolutionary IBM mainframe systems. The result was successful: increased capacity, performance optimization and an expanded range of services which could be offered to clients. Over the years, Mr. Dobruskin has been involved in the prerequisite servicing and upgrades to  OS/390 and z/OS based architectures. His area of specialization in the 1980s’ was telecommunications systems software – VTAM, SNA, and CICS, in the 1990’s client/server systems – DB2 UDB, SQL Server, Sybase, and PowerBuilder, and more recently first generation middleware – WebSphere MQ, and web server front-ends to mainframe systems: WebSphere WAS, BEA Web Logic, Oracle Application Server, and IIS. Mr. Dobruskin selectively accepts development assignments for web based applications: .NET and Java.  He has been teaching for SYS-ED since the mid 1980’s on a part-time basis. His current project work includes the development of SYS-ED’s Transactional VSAM course and reviews of IBM red books.

CURRENT  PROJECT WORK

Developed a web based data query application with interactive query builder. The application supports user query save/load/edit functions via XML serialization.
Developed a web based report management and delivery system. Implemented in the web form environment, including a custom Single Sign On (SSO) component similar to the MS Passport.
Project manager responsible for the implementation of a web based data query application with interactive query builder. The application supports user query save/load/edit functions via XML serialization.
Architect responsible for implementing 24/7 high availability architecture for SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and SQL Server.
Implemented and configured Microsoft SharePoint Portal 2003, Windows SharePoint Services and MS SQL Server 2000.

CONSULTANCY BY MAJOR CLIENT

Lead architect and designer of a system re-engineering project: including the system, application and communication components. Successfully implemented a large scale system design and implementation which currently processes 30% of the trade volume of the New York Stock Exchange.
Project leader on multiple technology initiatives in the investment banking industry for mainframe/client server system integration. The development was implemented in the form of modifications to VTAM, TCP/IP and LU6.2 in order to provide the necessary business function support. The primary client was Morgan Stanley http://www.morganstanley.com.
Designed, implemented and supported major components of a LAN based branch automation system. His primary responsibility was to code the user interface and communication subsystem of a PC based home banking system.
For the New York Stock Exchange implemented a cost-effective communication channel to the regional stock exchanges required for connectivity to small and medium size brokerage firms. The development language was Visual C++.

CONSULTANCY BY TECHNOLOGY

Principal architect of the IBM - TANDEM interface for a global banking project. He designed a LU6.2 system which provided for bulk data transfer between IBM and TANDEM environments.
Identified, assessed, and implemented an online delivery of print data within an enterprise-wide network. The Network Print Manager (NETPRINT) product was used to provide print services for large CICS installations. The solution was based on a client/server architecture. The package also provided an Application Programming Interface (API) for the Assembler and COBOL programming languages.
Research and selection of the ARTIC Communication Server/RadiSys ARTIC Communication Co-Processor (http://www.radisys.com) on the Windows 2000 platform. The product is a TCP/IP, X.25 and BISYNC communications middleware package. A critical component of the implementation was the development of TCP/IP socket drivers and interfaces for the mainframe and AS/400 hosts and line drivers for the X.25 and BISYNC protocols.
Coded the VTAM Session Manager for IBM mainframes in Assembler language.
Implementation of the IBM - Tandem Interface Manager (ITIM) which is a middleware store and forward software package that provides the capability for implementing direct data transfer between CICS and Tandem application programs. Performed custom work with the Application Programming Interface (API) for the Assembler and COBOL languages.
Developed in Assembler and C languages, TCP/IP, MVS and CICS system exits for the IBM mainframe and midrange platforms. The code provided: TCP/IP web access security authentication and authorization, application error capture and recovery, and improved performance.
Developed source code utilities which afforded the capability to:
  • Inspect application source code for the compliance with company programming standards.
  • Generate management reports on the program size.
  • Implement a program comment/code ratio.
  • Provide system calls cross-reference across COBOL and Assembler language modules.
