Our fast-track WebSphere MQ courses – Concepts, Administration, and Application Programming range in duration from 3 to 5 days and go well beyond teaching simply the how-to’s and highlight the guidance and tips not readily discernible from IBM documentation. In Oakwood Computing classes, 1/3 of a student’s class time is spent hands-on coding, testing, and debugging WebSphere MQ applications. WebSphere MQ Training Program

For experienced mainframe programmers who will be called upon to manage specific tasks with WebSphere MQ, typically either our WebSphere WebSphere MQ Administration or WebSphere MQ Programming courses would provide for superior mastery of the subject matter inclusive of demonstrations and workshop exercises. For IT personnel who require an integrated approach for developing/managing automated web based systems our core WebSphere MQ courses can be taken as part of an integrated training program.

Training programs based upon the use of various training techniques have been chosen for suitability to the particular course material and audience as well as scheduling and class size requirements.

The following methods will be use for introductory material for personnel, most operator training, and programmer training on selected topics.

Program for Client A

• Distance learning will be used for introductory OOPs, web server and Java.
• Oakwood Computing in London will be used for their 4-day WebSphere Server Administration course, 4-day WebSphere MQ (WebSphere MQ) System Administration, 5-day Java Programming for COBOL Programmers course, and 5-day CICS Command Level Programming.
• Sun Microsystems offerings will be used for specialized Java programmer training.
• IBM course offerings will be used for WebSphere and z/OS connectivity training.

The plan is to have three or four programmers and two or three people from tech support complete the distance-learning training and then take the Oakwood Computing instructor-led courses. Based upon feedback from this group, we will either confirm this mix or make adjustments as needed.

On a long range basis, we plan that all of the programmers and operators will be trained in the new web technologies during the period January through May or June. The exact schedule will depend on other workloads on various members of the staff. Java programmer education would be mostly completed during this period, although specialized courses may be taken later in the year.
