Mike Chudasama: The Mainframe Training Program Expert

Mike Chudasama is the recognized dean of instructor-led mainframe courses and training programs for IT professionals; no one has been doing it longer; and no one has been doing it better. Mr. Chudasama has been involved in the design, development, management, and teaching of IBM mainframe programming skills, programming languages, and systems software since the mid 1970s. From the perspective of Fortune 1000 corporations, his pedigree reads like a who’s who in the mainframe training business: Online Software International, International Computers Consulting Services, and since 1986, SYS-ED.

After 30+ years, his modus operandi and first love is still to teach. Mr. Chudasama teaches SYS-ED’s core mainframe courses – Fundamentals, Programming Languages, TSO/ISPF, MVS/JCL, COBOL, Assembler, VSAM, CICS, and DB2.

News for Immediate Release!

Consulting companies recommend Mike Chudasama in conjunction with distance-learning products for z/OS mainframe programming skills, programming languages, system software, and web enablement training.

Mainframe Training - z/OS Skills and Web Enablement Training Program

All IT personnel will need to learn new skills for the z/OS environment in order to implement the next generation of technologies. In general these skills will be both a new and better way of doing something that they knew how to do before. Training will cut across generations – some very experienced people will be learning web enablement technologies; while first generation IT staff will be using ISPF, JCL, and “tried and tested” mainframe programming languages, such as COBOL and IBM systems software for the first time.

The tailored mainframe training programs will reflect and incorporate COBOL85, and optionally OOPs, and NetExpress.  The instruction will utilize the full complement of training techniques in order to address the client's operational objectives, the geographic location of the  audience as well as scheduling and class size requirements.

The following methods will be used for introductory material for personnel, most operator training, and programmer training on selected topics.

Program for Client A

  • Distance learning will be used for introductory training for personnel, most operator training, and programmer training on selected subjects.
  • Mike Chudasama in New York will be used for the 5-day MVS/JCL course, 5-day COBOL Programming course, 4-day COBOL Programming - Advanced course, 3-day COBOL Debugging course, and 3-day VSAM for Programmers course.
  • IBM Education Center offerings will be used for specialized systems programmer training.

The plan is to have three or four programmers and two or three people from tech support complete the distance-learning training and then take the Mike Chudasama instructor-led courses. Based upon feedback from this group, we will either confirm this mix or make adjustments as needed.

On a long range basis, we plan that all of the programmers and operators will be trained in both z/OS and the new web technologies during the period January through May or June. The exact schedule will depend on other workloads on various members of the staff. System programmer education would be mostly completed during this period, although specialized courses may be taken later in the year.

Real Hands-on Training
Mike Chudasama's mainframe training courses are tough, but they're worth it. His challenging "hands-on" training immediately increases programming productivity by 50% or more for both business professionals new to mainframe and experienced mainframe programmers. He draws upon his extensive library of sample programs and case studies to explain, demonstrate, and implement real-world applications. This will translate into productivity enhancements which will be needed in order to implement business systems.

Wrote the Book
Mike Chudasama's course manuals are the best in the industry. They are comprehensive guides and programming models written especially for each course. They are thorough, clear, and well organized, and serve as desktop references long after the course. The manuals are constantly updated to include new versions and more efficient programming methods. Mike Chudasama students also have access to sample programs and training aids via the Internet.

Teaching is Our Only Business
Most computer training companies are divisions of large software companies or consulting companies. Not Mike Chudasama. Our only goal is to provide top-quality computer training for highly motivated professionals-no more and no less. Because we're independent, we're free to concentrate on teaching--and we do it very well.

His Place or Yours?
Mike Chudasama's mainframe training courses are held in midtown Manhattan, New York City. If you prefer, he'll arrange on-site courses at your own computer installation, inclusive of mobile computer classroom set-up. On-site courses can include the same workshops, and case studies and hands-on approach as our restricted enrollment courses. Or can be customized to your particular application or project.
